The massacre of Matawan shows that the demands of the workers and the injustice done to them was sufficient enough to form a union within them and stick to an agenda of raising their wages and provide appropriate household facilities to the miners. Sid Hatfield, the policeman of that time, and his team supported the workers showing his modesty and honesty towards the rights of every human being.
He took the side of the workers and killed the other officers who hindered the demands. Labor laws and unions are now implemented to avoid such circumstances that give rise to ‘direct’ conflict and leads to such activity. Justice is every human’s right and everyone should think about it honestly and fairly (Bailey).
