The symbolic Inter-actionist perspective focuses on how human beings in a society act towards various social institutions based on the meaning they ascribed to them. These meanings come from their social interactions with other people in society and are modified through their own interpretations.
Symbolic Inter-actionist perspective takes a micro look at health care. Rather than focusing on a general picture of medicine it focuses on the needs of the individual and how people experience the health care system. Rather than seeing whether the system itself meets the needs of the populace it focuses on whether physicians address all the needs and concerns of the individual patient and the results these discussions bring (Stolley pg 31, London).
