Sample Term Paper

As pointed out by Prof. Lee, the South was still better off than the North under its quasi-democratic dispensation.  South Koreans were, however, perturbed by the developments north of the 38th parallel and their growing influence across the divide. While they were clearly disturbed by the actions of the repressive communist regime in the north, scuttling all outlets of freedom of speech and association, they were more concerned about its growing political and military authority, and its actions across the border that were undermining the authority of the South Korean administration.  Politically, people were becoming increasingly skeptical of the administration’s policy of co-opting both the right and the left despite the documented evidence of sedition and political intrigue by leftist parties, especially the South Korean Democratic National Front.  This was to sow the seeds of the Korean War.  (Lee 40) (American Heritage 1200)
