New Jersey’s pension fund is one of the highest in the country. However, the state is experiencing problems in handling the pension funds due to potentially poor policies that are currently in place. Various indicators show the state is increasingly diverting the pension funds to cater for other purposes for the last 15 years or more.
These policies have been gathering support from various political parties in order to gain legislation. The state will have to design measures to counter the mismanagement of funds before it is too late.
